How should I care for Brazilian Ipe wood?

Brazilian Ipe wood must be cleaned, brightened, sanded, oiled, and wiped off correctly for it to look beautiful, and dry correctly.

If the deck is sun exposed, you can expect this treatment to last about 1 year before it is  time to refinish.

What is your process to oil Ipe wood?

Care must be taken to clean and oil this type of wood correctly.

We will clean the deck, brighten it, sand it where needed, oil it, then wipe it off.  It is important to do each step correctly, or it will be expensive to fix.

What do you use to seal Ipe wood?

We use Mesmer’s, Armstrong and Clark,  or Australian Timber Oil.
